Are you ready for the new Award provisions?

August 15, 2018
Did you know that from the 1st of August 2018 Modern Awards include five days of unpaid domestic and family violence leave?  The leave applies to all employees, including casuals, and is the result of a claim made by the ACTU to the Fair Work Commission.

Now that domestic and family violence leave is a recognised industrial entitlement for Award based workers, it is time to check whether your organisation is equipped to respond appropriately to domestic and family violence at work.  We can assist by providing training, policy templates and more.

Our three hour Domestic and Family Violence Work Aware workshop is specifically designed to meet the needs of managers, HR personnel, team leaders and supervisors so that they know how to respond when staff are impacted by domestic and family violence.  The workshop incorporates the new Modern Award provisions so that training participants understand what the entitlement is and what is needed to comply.

You can learn more about the content of the workshop at our specialised Domestic and Family Violence Work Aware website and register to attend the Darwin session online; Friday the 7th of September and Monday the 19th of November from 8:30 - 11:30.  Send an email to admin@ntwwc.com.au to register your interest in a session in Alice Springs.
